Soybean Oil Prices Rise Again

Soybean oil prices have risen again. This information was confirmed by Tapan Kanti Ghosh, Senior Secretary, Ministry of Commerce, after a meeting with the leaders of Bangladesh Vegetable Oil Refiners and Vegetable Manufacturers Association on Sunday (February 8) afternoon.

He said that due to the increase in oil prices in the international market, the price of open soybean oil in the domestic market is increasing by Tk 7 per liter and the price of bottled soybean oil is increasing by Tk 8 per liter. Besides, the price of five-liter bottled oil has been increased by Tk 35 and palm oil by Tk 15. The price will be effective from Monday (February 7).

According to the latest price fixed by the government on October 19, 2021, bottled soybean oil was priced at tk 160 per liter and open soybean oil at tk 136 per liter. The price of 5 liters of bottled soybean was tk 760 and the price of palm oil was tk 118 per liter.

According to the new price, the price of bottled soybean oil has been increased by Tk 8 to Tk 168 per liter, open soybean oil by Tk 7 to Tk 143, 5 liter of bottled soybean by Tk 35 to Tk 795 and palm oil by Tk 15 to Tk 133.
