A bus driver was killed in a head-on collision between two buses at Madhupur in Tangail. At least 25 passengers of the two buses were injured.
The deceased was identified as Shamim, 45, of Tangail Sadar Upazila.
The incident took place in the Gangair area of Madhupur on the Tangail-Mymensingh road on Saturday (May 14) morning.
After the accident, local, police and fire service personnel rescued the injured and sent them to Tangail and Mymensingh Medical College Hospitals.
Sub-Inspector (SI) of Madhupur Police Station Mamunur Rashid
said that the head-on collision between Prantik Paribahan from Mymensingh and
Mahi Paribahan from Tangail was occurred in Gangair area of Madhupur. Both
buses were severely damaged in the collision. Many passengers including the
driver of the two buses were seriously injured. Among them, Prantik Paribahan
driver Shamim (45) died while undergoing treatment at Tangail Sadar Hospital.
