The ongoing mild heat wave is likely to continue in three districts, said a Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) bulletin valid for 24 hours commencing 9:00 am Wednesday, reports BSS.
"Mild heat wave is sweeping over the districts of Noakhali, Khulna, and Bagerhat and it may continue," said the bulletin.
"Rain or thunder showers with intense lightning flashes and temporary gusty or squally wind is likely to occur at many places over Mymensingh and Sylhet divisions; at a few places over Rangpur, Rajshahi, Dhaka, and Chattogram divisions, and at one or two places over Khulna and Barishal divisions with moderately heavy to heavy falls at places over northeastern part of the country," it added.
However, the day and night temperatures may remain nearly unchanged over the country.
Country's maximum temperature on Tuesday was recorded at 36.4 degrees Celsius at Mongla, while the minimum temperature today was recorded at 22.4 degrees Celsius at Srimangal.
The highest rainfall in the last 24 hours till 6:00 am Wednesday was recorded at 37 mm at Srimangal.
The sunsets at 6.35 pm on Wednesday and rises at 5:15 am on Thursday in the capital
