2 Motorcyclists Dead after Being Hit by Truck in Goalanda

Two motorcyclists were killed and one seriously injured when a truck hit them on the Dhaka-Khulna highway in Goalanda Upazila of Rajbari. The accident took place around 10:30 pm on Saturday.

The deceased were identified as Rony, son of Abdul Jalil of Bahirdia village in Faridpur Sadar Upazila and Swapan of Shariatpur district. 

It has been reported that three persons were going to Faridpur from Daulatdia on the Dhaka-Khulna highway on a motorcycle around 10:30 pm on Saturday. When they reached the front of Nabuosimudding Para Government Primary School, the motorcycle collided head-on with a goods-laden truck coming from the opposite direction.

Two motorcyclists were killed on the spot. Locals rescued a seriously injured man and took him to Goalanda Upazila Health Complex. He was later taken to Faridpur Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical College Hospital as his condition deteriorated.

Ahladipur Highway Police Station OC Md Tariqul Islam said the truck and motorcycle were recovered from the spot and brought to the police station. The truck driver and his associate managed to flee.
