Jitu Beats Teacher to Death to Show Heroism In Front Of His Girlfriend

Ashraful Islam Jitu, the key accused in the murder of Utpal Kumar Sarker, a teacher of Hazi Yunus Ali School and College at Ashulia, has confessed that he beat the teacher with a cricket stump to show heroism in front of his girlfriend.

He planned to teach Utpal, the president of the school's disciplinary committee, a lesson on June 25 because he ruled Jitu and his girlfriend on the college campus. This is what the accused of the murder said in the preliminary interrogation after his arrest by the RAB.

This was announced at a press conference at the RAB media center on Thursday (June 30) at noon.

Khandaker Al Moin, chief commander of the RAB's law and media branch, told a news conference that Jitu was arrested in a joint operation by the intelligence branch of RAB headquarters and RAB-1 and RAB-4 in the Sreepur area of ​​Gazipur on Wednesday (June 29) evening. Jitu studied in the tenth class of that educational institution.

Khandaker Al Moin said Jitu is known to everyone in the school as an unruly student. There are allegations against him for violating discipline, fighting and abolishing the school environment at different times. He used to tease and annoy the students on the way to and from school. He used to smoke in front of everyone on the school premises, come to school without school uniform, and move recklessly on a motorcycle. He formed a teenage gang in the area under his leadership. If anyone complained against him to his family, Jitu would attack them along with his gang members and at various times he would show up in a showdown with attacks and intimidation to create panic in the area.

Commander Khandaker Moin said that a few days before the incident, the murdered teacher forbade Jitu from going around with a female student of the school. In this incident, he became angry with his teacher. He planned to attack the teacher to show his heroism in front of the girl. According to the previous plan, a cricket stamp was brought to the school on June 25 and it was hidden behind the classroom.

He said that later during the girls' cricket tournament on the college field, he saw teacher Utpal Kumar standing alone in a corner of the field and started hitting him with a stamp. Jitu first hit the teacher on the head from behind and later hit various parts of the body, seriously injuring him.

According to the RAB, Jitu stayed in the area till evening but later left the area for fear of being arrested. After roaming in different areas, he hid in the village of Dhanua in Sreepur, Gazipur. He was later arrested from there.

Although Jitu's father was arrested from Kushtia at midnight on Tuesday, protests continued across the country demanding Jitu's arrest. Jitu's father was remanded in police custody for five days on Wednesday.

Incidentally, last Saturday (June 25) at noon, the Haji Yunus Ali School and College ground in Savar was playing football for the students. Lecturer Utpal was standing on one side of the field watching the game. Ashraful Islam Jitu, a 10th-class student of the institute, came with a cricket stump and started beating Utpal. He was later admitted to Enam Medical College Hospital in Savar with serious injuries. As the condition worsens, he is kept in ICU. Fighting to the death, he died Monday morning.

The schoolboy was made the main accused in the murder of teacher Utpal and a case was filed against three or four other unidentified persons at Ashulia police station. Asim Kumar, brother of the murdered teacher, filed the case.
