Man Held for Raping Minors in Chandpur

A man was arrested for allegedly raping two minors in Hajiganj Upazila of Chandpur, reports UNB.

The arrestee is Khalilur Rahman, 49, a resident of Sekander Ali house of Kalochon village of the Upazila.

Family members claimed Khalilur raped the two girls -- one aged 7 and the other 8 of the house on October 1 and October 7 after luring them with gifts.

Later the girls informed their parents of their ordeal.

A rape case was filed with Hajiganj police following a complaint lodged by the parents of the victims.

Police arrested Khalilur from the area following filing of the cases.

A rape case was filed against Khalilur at the police station, said Mohammad Zobair Syed, officer-in-charge of Hajiganj Police Station, adding that the two minors were sent to Chandpur Sadar Hospital for medical tests.
