A 35-year-old woman was killed after being hit by a train at the Ambagan area between the capital's Moghbazar and Wireless Railgate on Monday night, reports UNB.
The deceased was identified as Tania Akhtar Sumi, wife of Tanvir, who hailed from Cumilla's Debidwar Upazila.
She worked at a private company in the capital's Karwan Bazar area.
Tania's brother Md Jahangir said the train hit Tania around 8 pm while she was walking near a rail track, leaving her
critically injured.
She was rushed to the Dhaka Medical College and Hospital where doctors pronounced her dead around 9 pm.
The body was kept at the hospital morgue for an autopsy, said Md. Bachchu Mia, in-charge of the DMCH police
outpost.
