A Rohingya young man was shot dead allegedly by some Rohingya terrorists at a camp of Ukhiya Upazila in Cox's Bazar district early Wednesday, reports media.

The deceased was identified as Jasim Uddin, 26, a resident of the No 10 Rohingya camp in the Upazila.

Ukhiya Police Station officer in-charge Sheikh Mohammad Ali said some Rohingya terrorists entered the camp and opened fire aiming at Jasim.

He was rescued in a bloody state and taken to MSF Hospital where the on-duty doctor declared him dead.

The body was later sent to Cox's Bazar Sadar Hospital morgue for an autopsy, the OC added.

Armed Police Battalion (APBn) assistant superintendent of police (Media) Faruk Ahmed said additional police have been deployed in the area to avert further untoward situations.

Police are also trying to arrest the involved people in the incident, the APBn official added.

Earlier on Tuesday night, a Rohingya head majhi named Salam was shot by some miscreants at Kutupalong camp. He is currently undergoing treatment at Cox's Bazar Sadar Hospital.
