Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan today said the court will take steps if BNP Chairperson Kaleda Zia participates in her party's rally in the capital on December 10.

"The court will take steps if BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia attends her party's public rally on December 10 in Dhaka as she is staying outside instead of behind the bars on condition," he said.

The minister came up with the remarks while addressing an annual training programme of Bangladesh Police Women Network in city's Rajarbagh area.

He said BNP got permission to hold its rally at Suhrawardy Udyan in the capital on December 10 on some conditions as BNP has rights to do politics.

BNP men will make mistakes if they lean towards any kind of violent acts during the rally on that day, he added.

About seeking permission of BNP over holding rally, the home minister mentioned that BNP initially sought permission to hold the rally at either Suhrawardy Udyan or Manik Mia Avenue.

They got permission to hold the rally at Suhrawardy Udyan because Manik Mia Avenue is a restricted area where the national parliament is also located.

"We have made it clear that BNP can carry out their political activities, but they have no rights to create chaos and anarchy in the name of a rally," he said.
