One More Dies in Dhaka's Science Lab Blast

The death toll from the March 5 explosion at a commercial building at Science Lab Mor in the city reached five as one more victim died yesterday (Thursday) evening.

The victim 53-year-old Md Jahur Ali succumbed to his burn injuries while undergoing treatment at the intensive care unit (ICU) of the Sheikh Hasina National Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery (SHNBPS) here on 7.30 pm, police sources said. 

Chief Coordinator of the Institute Dr Samanta Lal Sen said that Jahur sustained 44 percent burn injuries in his body. 

The deceased was the son of late Mokaddas Mandal of Charandadia village of Alphadanga police station of Faridpur district.

The explosion took place at Shirin Mansion at Science Lab Mor in the city's Dhanmondi area around 10:50 am on March 5. 

Three people died that day while another victim named Ayesha Akhter Asha, 26, died while undergoing treatment at a city hospital on Tuesday last.
