Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina paid tribute at the mausoleum of Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi (Mahatma Gandhi), one of the leaders of India's freedom and civil rights movements.
Today (September 10), on the second and last day of the G-20 summit, the Prime Minister of Bangladesh will pay tribute to Mahatma Gandhi along with leaders of other countries.
After laying the wreath, the Prime Minister stood in silence for a while to pay respect to the memory of Mahatma Gandhi. Later, She signed the inspection book.
Earlier, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina went to Delhi on Friday to attend the G-20 summit at the invitation of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Sheikh Hasina held a bilateral meeting with Modi at the Indian Prime Minister's residence on Friday evening. Prior to the bilateral meeting, Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) were signed on cooperation in agricultural research, cultural exchange, and trade in Bangladeshi taka and Indian rupees (the common currency of the two countries).
On September 9, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina attended different sessions of the G-20 summit and delivered two speeches on the main theme of the summit, 'One Earth, One Family, One Future'.
In the 'One Earth' and 'One Family' sessions, the Prime Minister of Bangladesh highlighted how to deal with the challenges of climate change, economic recovery after the COVID pandemic, and severe disruption of the global supply of essential commodities like fuel, food, and fertilizers due to the war in Europe.
Besides, the Prime Minister presented the experience of Bangladesh's incredible success in various socio-economic fields during the tenure of his government to the world's leaders.
The Prime Minister also held meetings with Argentine President Alberto Angel Fernandez, South Korean President Yoon Suk Yeol and UAE President Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
