4.2 Magnitude Quake Jolts Dhaka

Dhaka and surrounding areas were jolted by the magnitude 4.2 earthquake. The tremor was felt today at 12:50 p.m. on Sunday.

The epicenter of the earthquake was 12 km from Kaliakor in Gazipur. No damage was reported as a result of this tremor.

The origin of the tremor was 5 km below the surface.

Earlier, on August 14, around 8:50 pm, an earthquake was felt across the country including the capital. Its magnitude was 5.5 on the Richter scale.
