Jhenaidah-2: Eagle Becomes Popular, Boat Lags Behind

The 12th National Assembly elections is knocking at the door. At the last minute, A crack is detected in the election campaign of Boat in Jhenaidah-2 (Sadar-Harinakundu) seat. A division has been created between the leaders and supporters of Awami League. However, the independent candidate of the Eagle symbol are getting the benefits. As the time of election is approaching, the heat is spreading in the voting field.

Voters are looking at the equation of a bone-to-bone fight between Awami League nominated candidate Tahjib Alam Siddiqui and independent candidate of Eagle symbol Nasser Shahrear Zahedee Mohul.

Talking to the leaders and activists of the district Awami League, it is known that due to the division in the party, most of the leaders and activists left the side of the Boat candidate and took a stand in favor of the Eagle symbol. As a result, the Eagle symbol has become a major obstacle to the Boat's victory.

According to Eagle supporters, independent candidates. Nasser Shahrear Zahedee Mohul is also the leader of Awami League. Moreover, the present MP has not developed any area. He has created divisions in the party. Party leaders do not keep track. For this reason, they said that they are staying outside the party symbol.

Other candidates for this seat are Jatiya Party's Mahfuzur Rahman, JSD's Fazlul Kabir Gama, Trinamool BNP's Jamrul Islam, Bangladesh Congress's Nasir Uddin, Bangladesh Supreme Party's (BSP) Nazrul Islam, Bangladesh Cultural Liberation Party's Sharif Mohammad Badrul Haider, NPP's Mizanur Rahman Mizu, Bangladesh Abdul Hannan Kha of Kalyan Party and Khondkar Hafizur Rahman Farooq of Bangladesh National Awami Party (NAP).

Notably, total number of voters in this seat consisting of 21 unions and 2 municipalities is 4 lakh 76 thousand 295 people. Out of which 2 lakh 37 thousand 533 male voters and 2 lakh 38 thousand 762 female voters.
