Salman F Rahman said that the government will not protect anyone as the law will take its own course. He said these over the corruption of former Chief of Army Staff Aziz Ahmed and Inspector General of Police (IGP) Benazir Ahmed. Prime Minister’s Private Industry and Investment Adviser Salman F Rahman today said regarding the corruption allegations of former army chief Aziz Ahmed and police chief Benazir Ahmed. He added, the law will run at its own pace.
Salman F. Rahman said this in response to journalists’ queries after a meeting in the meeting room of the Ministry of Home Affairs at the Secretariat on Wednesday (May 29).
“I don’t believe that the government would feel embarrassment at Aziz and Benazir issues,” Rahman responded to a journalist.
Earlier, he presided over the third meeting of the National Committee formed to prevent accidents and ensure a safe working environment in factories, industries and commercial establishments. Prime Minister’s Private Industry and Investment Adviser Salman F Rahman is the chairman of the committee.
Echoing the voice of Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader, Rahman said, “No matter how influential the wrongdoers are, the law will take its own course.”
In the meeting chaired by Salman F. Rahman, Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal, Local Government Rural Development and Cooperative Minister Md. Tajul Islam, Industry Minister Nurul Majid Mahmud Humayun, State Minister for Commerce Ahsanul Islam Titu, Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) Mayor Md. Atiqul Islam and related senior officials were present.
