69,954 Bangladeshi Pilgrims Reach Saudi Arabia For Hajj

A total of 69,954 hajj pilgrims have reached Saudi Arabia from Bangladesh for performing holy hajj this year (2024).  Among them, 4,550 people have gone under government management while 64,404 under private arrangement.

This information was given in the latest bulletin regarding Hajj on Saturday (June 8).

So far a total of 179 hajj flights have carried pilgrims from Bangladesh to Saudi Arabia. Hajj flights started carrying pilgrims from Bangladesh on May 9 and will continue to do that until June 10. Return hajj flights will start on June 20 and will continue until July 22.

Meanwhile, visas have been issued to all hajj pilgrims by the Saudi Embassy in Dhaka.

A total of 85,257 pilgrims from Bangladesh will perform the holy hajj this year. Of them, 4,562 pilgrims will perform hajj under government management and 80,695 under private arrangement.

A total of 12 Bangladeshi hajj pilgrims have died in Saudi Arabia until Saturday. Of them, nine died in Makka and three in Madina, according to the Ministry of Religious Affairs and Hajj Portal Bulletin.

This year a total of 85,117 people registered for performing hajj under government and private management.

Of the total, hajj pilgrims under government management are 4,422 (4,323 hajj pilgrims + 99 - guide) while under private management they are 80,695 (78,895 hajj pilgrims + 1800- guide).

On May 9, the first dedicated flight of Bangladesh Airlines departed for Saudi Arabia with 415 pilgrims. With this, the official journey of this year's Hajj begins. The last Hajj flight will be on June 12.

The holy Eid-ul-Azha will be held in Saudi Arabia on June 16.
