Padma Bridge Collects Over Tk 4.8 Cr Tolls In A Day

This year, on the first day of the Eid-ul-Azha public holiday, i.e., Friday (June 14), a total of 44,033 vehicles crossed the Padma Bridge, from which Tk 4.82 crore tolls have been collected.  On Saturday (June 15) morning, Padma Bridge Manager (Toll) Md. Ahmed Ali informed this. 

He said that 44,033 vehicles crossed the Padma Bridge in 24 hours on June 14, from which the total collection is Tk 4,82,17,400. 

From the Mawa end, 28,896 vehicles cross the bridge, from which Tk 2,72,64,550 tolls have been collected. Besides, there is a toll of Tk 120,350 for crossing the vehicles of government institutions. While moving, the toll collected by the ETCs system is Tk 1,200.

On the other hand, 15,137 vehicles crossed the bridge from Zajira end, where total toll collection is Tk 2,08,19,300 with remaining Tk 53,750 from government vehicles.

Mentioned that the Eid holiday for government employees has started from Friday (June 14). Thursday (June 13) was the last working day. Started on Friday, this holiday will end on June 18. Government employees are getting 5 consecutive days off on Eid-ul-Azha. The holy Eid-ul-Azha will be celebrated in the country on June 17 (10 Zilhajj).

Noted that Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina inaugurated the much-awaited Padma Bridge on 25 June 2022. It was opened for traffic from the next day. 51,316 vehicles used the bridge on the first day after its opening.
