The forensic report of the body of MP Anwarul Azim Anar, who was killed in Kolkata, has been received by India's CID. Following this, they have summoned Anar's daughter, Mumtarin Ferdous Dorin, to India to provide a DNA sample. Anar's personal assistant, Abdur Rauf, confirmed this information yesterday, Thursday, June 20th.
Abdur Rauf said, "On Thursday, an officer from India's CID called Dorin, asking her to come to India within a week to provide a DNA sample. We have informed the Detective Branch (DB) police about this. We will go to India as soon as possible with a team from the DB police."
Meanwhile, Saidul Karim Mintu, a district Awami League leader arrested in connection with the murder of MP Anwarul Azim Anar, has not given a confessional statement in court. He has claimed his innocence during the remand. However, despite his claims of innocence, the Dhaka Metropolitan Detective Branch (DB) police have found evidence of his involvement in Anar's murder.
It is worth noting that Anar went to Kolkata on May 12. He went missing on May 13 after leaving his residence to visit a doctor. Subsequent police investigations revealed that he was murdered in a flat in New Town. The CID of India first arrested Bangladeshi citizen Kasai Jihad Howlader in connection with the investigation, followed by the arrest of Siam.
