2 Beaten To Death In Sayedabad For Gang Rape

Two youths were killed in mob beating in the capital's Sayedabad area on Wednesday morning for raping an woman.

The deceased were identified as Arafat Sharif, 20, and Saidul Islam Yasin, 19.

Arafat and Yasin were taken to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) around 10:45am in a critical state. There the on-duty doctors declared them dead.

Samrat, a student, who brought Arafat to the hospital, said some unknown persons gave three youths a good thrash in Sayedabad on charge of gang rape. Yasin was also brought to the hospital by his family members and declared dead.

A woman was gang raped in the Sayedabad area, it was learned. Later, the Bangladesh Army was informed of the matter. But the angry mob beat up the trio before the army came.
