The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has formed an inquiry team, led by Deputy Director Md. Jahangir Alam, to investigate bribery allegations against former Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal.
According to the allegations, Kamal, after assuming his ministerial duties, systematically collected bribes from various departments under the Ministry of Home Affairs, ACC Deputy Director and spokesperson Md Akhtarul Islam told The Financial Express.
The bribery operations were led by former private secretary ( Joint Secretary) Md Harun-Or-Rashid Biswas, Public Security Division Deputy Secretary Dhananjoy Kumar Das, Security Services Division Administrative Officer Mollah Ibrahim Hossain, Personal Officer Monir Hossain and Home Ministry Public Relations Officer Sharif Mahmud Apu.
The ACC has raised allegations that this group, led by the former home minister, was part of a syndicate involved in corrupt practices related to recruitment, placement, and transfer processes.
