Flood Situation Improves In Feni

The overall flood situation in the district is improving. About 8 lakh people of the district have suffered a lot due to the ongoing floods for almost a week.

Around 1.5 lakh people were rescued by army, navy, BGB, RAB, students and general people from the flood affected regions. Many flood-hit people took shelters by their own.

Musammat Shahina Akter, Deputy Commissioner, confirmed the matter on Monday morning (August 26).

She said that so far 60 thousand packets of dry food have been distributed in different ways. 38,000 packets of food items have been delivered to the people with the help of Army, Navy, RAB helicopter.

Feni Water Development Board sources said flood situation in Parashuram, Phulghazi has improved significantly due to receding water in Muhuri river. The water level is also decreasing in Feni town.

It is mentionable that the mobile networks have been activated in some areas of the district. And two-third areas are still disconnected from electricity supply.
