The government has formed a five-member committee to establish a process for all public servants to declare their assets.

The committee, led by the Secretary of the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC), was formed to ensure transparency and accountability among government employees, according to Senior Secretary of the Ministry of Public Administration, Md. Mokhles Ur Rahman.

The committee includes representatives from the National Board of Revenue (NBR), the Finance Division, the Office of the Controller General of Accounts (CGA), and the Ministry of Public Administration.

"The committee will also define the penalties for non-compliance," said Mokhles Ur Rahman during a briefing at the Secretariat on Monday.

He said that strict legal actions would be taken against those who fail to submit their asset declarations.

"Failure to submit the asset details will not go unnoticed. Legal action will be taken," Rahman warned. He mentioned that the asset declaration form would be simple, consisting of one page and available in Bengali. It will cover immovable, movable, and other forms of property.

The forms will be distributed to all government offices within the next 15 days, and a specific deadline for submission will be announced.

This announcement follows the directive issued by the Ministry of Public Administration on Sunday, mandating all government employees, both cadre and non-cadre, to submit their asset declarations.
