5,818 Weapons Looted Nationwide, 3,933 Recovered

According to the Police Headquarters, as of September 5, a total of 5,818 weapons have been looted nationwide, including Dhaka, with 3,933 of these weapons recovered.

There are still 1,885 weapons, including rifles, SMGs, LMGs, and pistols, that have not yet been recovered. Additionally, nearly 300,000 looted ammunition rounds remain to be retrieved.

Following the ousting of the Awami League government during the student-public uprising, rioters across the country attacked police stations, setting fires and looting weapons and ammunition.

The final date for surrendering weapons and ammunition was September 3. Since September 4, a joint task force has been conducting operations against looted and illegal weapons.

Various Caliber Bullets: 312,857 recovered, 294,405 not recovered, Tear Gas Shells: 23,194 recovered, 8,811 not recovered, Tear Gas Grenades: 704 recovered, 751 not recovered, Sound Grenades: 2,128 recovered, 2,564 not recovered, Color Smoke Grenades: 213 recovered, 78 not recovered.

Multiple Bang Stun Grenades: 18 recovered, 37 not recovered, Flash Bang Grenades: 533 recovered, 360 not recovered, Handheld Tear Gas Sprays (Canisters): 94 recovered, 83 not recovered

The joint operation involves the Bangladesh Army, Police, Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB), Bangladesh Ansar and Village Defense Forces, Coast Guard, and Rapid Action Battalion (RAB).
