The damaged Kazipara metro station, affected during the quota movement, has undergone repairs costing approximately 20 lakh 50 thousand Taka. This station will reopen tomorrow, September 20.
Mohammad Abdur Rouf, Managing Director of Dhaka Mass Transit Company Limited (DMTCL), confirmed this at the company's headquarters on Thursday, September 19.
He stated that the Kazipara metro station will be operational again starting tomorrow, and efforts are underway to quickly reopen the damaged Mirpur-10 metro station as well.
On September 18, the metro service between Agargaon and Motijheel was halted due to the displacement of an elastomeric bearing pad located between a pier and viaduct between Bijoy Sarani and Farmgate stations.
To investigate the technical fault and to implement necessary measures to prevent such incidents in the future, a seven-member technical committee has been formed. The committee is expected to submit its report with recommendations within five working days.
Additionally, Rouf announced that train services will resume on September 20, running from Uttara North to Motijheel from 3:30 PM to 9:00 PM, and from Motijheel to Uttara North from 3:50 PM to 9:40 PM, with a 12-minute headway between trains.
