Dengue Claims Two Lives, 866 Hospitalised In A Day

Two more people died of dengue while 866 more patients were hospitalised with viral fever in 24 hours till Monday morning.

On September 22, six patients were reported to have died from dengue, which was the highest number of single-day dengue deaths.

According to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS), with the new fatalities, the death toll from the mosquito-borne disease rose to 133 this year.

A total of 24, 900 dengue cases have been reported since January 1, 2024.

Last year, 1,705 people lost their lives due to dengue, making it the deadliest year on record.
