The Health Sub-Committee of the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement has compiled a preliminary list of 1,581 individuals who were killed during the student-led protests in July and August.
This information was announced at a press conference on Saturday, September 28, held at the TSC Auditorium of Dhaka University.
During the press conference, it was stated that this preliminary list of martyrs was created through the joint efforts of the central health sub-committee of the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement and the National Citizens Committee, covering the entire country.
The report indicated that the list includes a total of 1,581 individuals. The compilation was supported by various organizations, including the As-Sunnah Foundation, Human Rights Support Society, Red July, and several others. Additionally, local individuals provided crucial information that contributed significantly to the creation of this list.
It was further mentioned at the press conference that the preliminary list has been sent to committees formed in each district under the leadership of the district commissioners for verification. After the data is validated, a final list will be submitted to the Ministry of Health.
Present at the press conference were Nahida Bushra, the convener of the Health Sub-Committee, Farhad Alam Bhuiyan from the IT team, and leaders from the As-Sunnah Foundation, Human Rights Support Society, and Red July.
