A fire at a government shelter in Dharmapasha Upazila of Sunamganj has claimed the lives of six members of the same family.
The incident took place late on Monday night (September 30) in the Shimar Khal area of Joyshree Union.
On Tuesday morning (October 1), Upazila Executive Officer Mohammad Gias Uddin, Assistant Superintendent of Police of Dharmapasha Circle Ali Farid, and Officer-in-Charge of Dharmapasha Police Station Enamul Haque arrived at the scene.
The cause of the fire is still unknown.
Regarding the incident, OC Enamul Haque said, "A fire broke out at the government shelter in the middle of the night. It has been confirmed that six members of the same family have died. The cause of the fire will be determined following an investigation."
