Section 144 Imposed In Khagrachari

A clash between two parties has erupted in Khagrachari following the death of a teacher from mob beating. The situation in the area remains tense, prompting the district administration to impose Section 144 indefinitely to prevent any unpleasant incidents.

This order was issued on Tuesday (October 1) afternoon and will remain in effect until further notice.

The deceased, Sohel Rana, was a teacher at Khagrachari Technical School and College.

Local sources report that a college teacher named Sohel Rana was killed in a mob attack in the district town. In the aftermath of this incident, tensions escalated between the two groups, leading to clashes. To restore order, the administration has imposed Section 144 indefinitely in the district town.

Khagrachari District Commissioner Md. Shahiduzzaman confirmed the situation.

He stated that Section 144 has been enacted to avoid any unpleasant events, and law enforcement agencies have been deployed in the area.
