The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has instructed Bangladesh's ambassadors and high commissioners in India, New York, Brussels, Australia, and Portugal to relinquish their current posts and return to Dhaka.
In separate notifications issued on Tuesday (October 1), they were asked to report to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Dhaka without delay.
The five diplomats instructed to return to Dhaka are: Bangladesh's High Commissioner to India, Md. Mustafizur Rahman; Bangladesh's Ambassador and Permanent Representative to the United Nations in New York, Mohammad Abdul Muhith; Bangladesh's Ambassador to Belgium, Mahbub Hassan Saleh; Bangladesh's High Commissioner to Australia, M. Allama Siddiki; and Bangladesh's Ambassador to Portugal, Rezina Ahmed.
It is noteworthy that on September 29, a separate order was issued directing Bangladesh's High Commissioner to the United Kingdom, Saida Muna Tasneem, to return to Dhaka immediately.
