Hasina's Former Advisor Kamal Chowdhury Arrested

Former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s principal secretary and advisor, Kamal Abdul Naser Chowdhury, has been arrested by the police.

Additionally, former Secretary of Youth and Sports, Mezbah Uddin Ahmed, and Bashundhara Group’s coordinator, Adnan, have also been arrested.

Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) confirmed their arrests today, Wednesday (October 2).

The DMP stated that the three individuals have been charged in specific cases.

In January, following the 12th National Parliamentary Elections, Sheikh Hasina appointed Kamal Abdul Naser Chowdhury as an advisor. Prior to that, he served as the principal secretary in the Prime Minister’s Office. He also played a key role as the chief coordinator of the National Committee for the Celebration of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman’s Birth Centenary.
