The Chairman of the Nationalist Democratic Movement (NDM), Bobby Hajjaj, has filed a complaint with the International Crimes Tribunal seeking justice against the Awami League and 13 other parties for their roles as instigators of genocide.
The complaint was submitted today, October 2.
The allegations state that on July 19, a meeting was held by the Awami League-led alliance, where a decision was made to impose a curfew and shoot protestors on sight. Following this decision, acts of genocide were carried out. The complaint accuses the Awami League, the Workers Party, the JASAD, and other coalition members of committing crimes against humanity.
It names the Awami League and its allied political parties—including the Communist Party, Democratic Labor Party, JASAD (Inu), Workers Party of Bangladesh (Menon), Socialist Party of Bangladesh, Tariqat Federation, Democratic Party, National Awami Party (NAP), Ganazadi League, Communist Center, and the Socialist Party of Bangladesh (BASAD)—as direct instigators of genocide, requesting the International Crimes Tribunal to take necessary measures for investigation and prosecution.
After filing the complaint, Bobby Hajjaj told reporters, "I hope we will receive justice from the International Crimes Tribunal."
Present at the complaint submission were the Chief Prosecutor of the International Crimes Tribunal, Tajul Islam, NDM leader Sahedul Azam, Prosecutor Gazi MH Tamim, and BM Sultan Mahmood.
