The High Court judge has expressed embarrassment while writing the full ruling that requires Nobel laureate economist Dr. Muhammad Yunus to pay 666 Crore Taka. Following this, the High Court retracted the ruling issued on August 4, and the documents have been sent to the Chief Justice.

This information was shared by the relevant bench on Thursday, October 3.

It is known that on August 4, Justice Khurshid Alam Sarkar's High Court bench delivered a ruling for the payment of 666 crore Taka, but while writing the judgment, the junior judge realized that he had previously represented the state in this case. Therefore, he cannot issue this ruling. According to regulations, the Chief Justice will now assign a new bench to hear the case.

Additionally, on August 4, the High Court dismissed a writ petition challenging the legitimacy of the National Board of Revenue’s (NBR) tax claim of 666 crore Taka against Dr. Yunus.

It is worth noting that earlier, on March 11, the Appellate Division had instructed the High Court to resolve the case regarding the 666 crore Taka tax claim against Dr. Muhammad Yunus’s Grameen Kalyan within three months.
