Senior Secretary Mokhlesur Rahman Denies Corruption Allegations

Senior Secretary of the Ministry of Public Administration, Md. Mokhlesur Rahman, along with two Joint Secretaries, Dr. Ziauddin Ahmed and Ali Azam, has been accused in the media of appointing district commissioners (DCs) in exchange for large sums of money. Mokhlesur Rahman has claimed that the news is "fake."

In response to questions from journalists at the Secretariat on Thursday, October 3, he stated, "It's a fake news."

The senior secretary elaborated, saying, "My mobile phone is a Samsung. What they showed is an iPhone. Do I use an iPhone? I use a Samsung. You should ask them what they saw. I know nothing about this."

He further stated, "This is fake news. Action is being taken against that newspaper. I am not taking such allegations seriously."
