An explosion on the oil tanker "MT Banglar Sourav," operated by the Bangladesh Shipping Corporation (BSC), has resulted in one death in Chattogram.

The incident occurred at around 12:50 AM on Friday (October 4) at the outer anchorage of Chattogram Port.

Coast Guard officer Lieutenant Commander Abrar Hasan reported to the media that a fire broke out at that time. The Coast Guard's speedboat, named Metal Shark, was on patrol at sea and initiated the rescue operation. A total of 36 individuals were rescued using four speedboats.

Previously, on Monday (September 30), another BSC tanker, "MT Banglar Jyoti," had exploded while anchored at the Dolphin Oil Jetty in the port, resulting in the deaths of three people on the spot.
