Published annually, "The Muslim 500: The World's 500 Most Influential Muslims" reviews the impact and contributions of Muslims globally, a tradition that has been ongoing for 16 years.
This list categorizes influential Muslims into five areas: Religious, Political, Science and Technology, Arts and Culture, and Sports and Entertainment. Each category includes individuals who have made significant contributions in their respective fields.
Dr. Muhammad Yunus, widely recognized as the founder of microfinance and Grameen Bank, has been included in this year's list due to his contributions to economic development and his leadership in addressing global issues. He stands out as one of the most influential Muslims from Bangladesh.
In the women’s category of the 2025 list, Jordan's Queen Rania Al-Abdullah has been named "Woman of the Year" for her long-standing work in education and social development.
The list also features several prominent international figures, including Jordan's King Abdullah II, Qatar's Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, and Iran's Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, among other top Muslim personalities.
