The government has temporarily suspended Tapashi Tabassum Urmi, the Assistant Commissioner (Executive Magistrate) of the Lalmonirhat District Administration, due to a controversial post she made on Facebook about the Chief Adviser of the interim government, Dr. Muhammad Yunus. Following her suspension, an administrative process has been initiated against her according to employment regulations.
This information was communicated in a statement issued by the Chief Adviser's Press Wing on Monday afternoon.
The statement confirmed that Urmi, who had been placed on special duty (OSD) the previous Sunday, has now been dismissed, and punitive measures are being taken against her.
On Saturday, Urmi posted on her Facebook: "The constitutionally unfounded Chief Adviser of the interim government has said that the reset button has been pushed. The past has been erased. He has erased the entire historical context of the country with the click of a reset button. It's so easy. The countdown for you has begun, sir."
Since then, her post has sparked various discussions on social media over the past two days.
