Chief Adviser Issues 25 Directives To The Secretaries

The Interim Government's Chief Adviser, Dr. Muhammad Yunus, has issued 25 directives to the secretaries of various ministries and departments. These directives were recently sent from the Cabinet Division to the senior secretaries and secretaries.

The secretaries have been urged to implement these directives on a priority basis, ensuring their full cooperation and initiative. They are also instructed to take necessary steps in applicable areas according to the Chief Adviser's directives and report progress to the Cabinet Division.

The letter mentions the important guidelines given by the Chief Adviser during the secretaries' meeting held on September 4, where he addressed the senior secretaries and secretaries.

The directives are as follows:

1. Follow the Chief Adviser’s "marching orders" to advance the new Bangladesh created by the people's uprising by adopting and implementing reform programs at all levels of government.

2. Each ministry/department must urgently draft and implement necessary reform plans with creative, citizen-friendly approaches. This should include short, medium, and long-term reform programs with time-bound action plans.

3. Consult with relevant stakeholders and gather their opinions while formulating the reform programs.

4. Everyone must act with integrity, dedication, and accountability in their respective fields to build a new Bangladesh, inspired by conscience and a sense of justice.

5. Break away from conventional thinking, reform mindsets, and manage government activities in creative ways, prioritizing public interest to build the new Bangladesh.

6. Root out corruption and simplify services to achieve maximum public satisfaction.

7. Ensure transparency and accountability in the budget and make the best use of public funds.

8. Ensure proper competition in government procurement and eliminate existing barriers to transparency and accountability.

9. Utilize the global interest and positive perception of Bangladesh to serve the country's best interests.

10. Maintain a sense of responsibility and sensitivity in your duties.

11. Ensure that no service seekers face harassment, delays, or undue complications.

12. Improve the law and order situation.

13. Each ministry/department should prioritize activities accordingly.

14. Ensure the continuity of emergency supplies.

15. Ensure that agricultural production is not disrupted.

16. Work collectively to make the government more people-friendly.

17. Arrange proper training for human resource development and review training programs for potential reforms.

18. Remain vigilant to ensure uninterrupted power generation, supply, and transmission.

19. Maintain a student-friendly environment in educational institutions.

20. Take necessary steps to increase domestic gas production.

21. Ensure satisfactory food collection, storage, and supply.

22. Reduce import dependency by increasing domestic production and finding alternative sources of imports.

23. Regularly monitor the market for essential commodities.

24. Ensure uninterrupted industrial production.

25. Restore discipline in the financial sector, as stressed by the Chief Adviser.
