Twenty-three newly appointed judges have taken their oath in the High Court Division of the Supreme Court.
On Wednesday, October 9, Chief Justice Syed Refaat Ahmed administered the oath at the Judges' Lounge of the Supreme Court.
This followed the issuance of a notification by the Ministry of Law and Justice on Tuesday, October 8, regarding the appointment of the 23 judges. The notification stated that under Article 98 of the Constitution of the People's Republic of Bangladesh, the President has appointed the following 23 individuals as additional judges of the High Court Division of the Bangladesh Supreme Court for a term of up to two years from the date of taking the oath.
The appointed judges are: Mohammad Golam Mortuza Majumdar, Syed Enayet Hossain, Mohammad Mansur Alam, Syed Zahed Mansur, K.M. Rasheduzzaman Raja, Mohammad Yabid Hossain, Mobina Asaf, Kazi Waliul Islam, Ainun Nahar Siddika, Mohammad Abdul Mannan, Tamanna Rahman, Mohammad Shafiul Alam Mahmud, Mohammad Hamidur Rahman, Nasrin Akhtar, Sathika Hossain, Syed Mohammad Tajrul Hossain, Mohammad Toufik Inam, Yusuf Abdullah Suman, Sheikh Tahsin Ali, Faiz Ahmed, Mohammad Sogir Hossain, Shikdar Mahmudur Raji, and Debashish Roy Chowdhury.
