A Dhaka court has granted a two-day remand for former law minister Anisul Huq in connection with the murder of Al Amin Chishti, who was killed during a clash linked to the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement in the capital’s Badda area.
He was brought from jail and presented before the Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Court on Monday.
Following this, Sub-Inspector Ahsan Habib, the investigating officer of the case from Badda police station, requested a seven-day remand.
After hearing the arguments, Judge Nurul Huda Chowdhury approved a two-day remand for the former minister.
Anisul Huq is listed as the fourth accused in the case.
The case details allege that on August 5, during a celebration in Badda related to the anti-discrimination movement, Al Amin Hossain was attacked and shot dead by Awami League members near the Badda police station. The incident occurred after former prime minister Sheikh Hasina left for India.
Al Amin’s mother, Monihar Begum, 45, filed a case at Badda police station following her son's death.
