Ex-Minister Kamal Majumder Granted 3-Day Remand

During the anti-discrimination student movement, a student named Ikramul was killed, leading to a murder case filed at the Kafrul police station. The court has granted a three-day remand for former state minister and former MP for Dhaka-15, Kamal Ahmed Majumder.

On Saturday, October 19, Kamal Ahmed Majumder was presented at the Chief Metropolitan Magistrate's Court in Dhaka. Following this, the investigating officer requested a seven-day remand for a thorough investigation. After a hearing, Metropolitan Magistrate Ali Haidar approved a three-day remand.

Previously, on Friday night, October 18, he was arrested from a house in Gulshan.

Kafrul police station's officer-in-charge (OC) Golam Mostafa confirmed the news, stating that Kamal Ahmed Majumder, the owner of SS Agro Complex and a former state minister, had been arrested. After the ousting of Sheikh Hasina on August 5, like other ministers and MPs, Kamal Ahmed Majumder had gone into hiding. He faces multiple charges against him.

OC Golam Mostafa stated that he was arrested in connection with a case at Kafrul police station.
