Efforts were made to destabilize the country through a blackout program in Palli Bidyut. In this incident, the army has arrested Ali Hasan Mohammad Ariful Islam, the Deputy General Manager (DGM) of Lakshmipur Palli Bidyut Association, who is the main accused in a case filed under the Cyber Security Act at Khilkhet Police Station in Dhaka.
He was arrested on Friday night (October 18) and handed over to the Lakshmipur Sadar Police Station in connection with the case. Later that night, he was sent to the Khilkhet Police Station in Dhaka.
This morning, Saturday (October 19), the Officer-in-Charge (OC) of the Sadar Police Station, Mohammad Abdul Munaf, confirmed the matter, stating that on Thursday, there were attempts to destabilize the country through a rural electricity blackout program. In this incident, Ariful Islam has been named the main accused in a case filed under the Cyber Security Act, and the army arrested him and handed him over to the police station. He was sent to Khilkhet Police Station later that night.
According to the police, on Thursday, a person named Mohammad Arshad Hossain filed a case at Khilkhet Police Station naming Ali Hasan Mohammad Ariful Islam as the main accused along with three others under the Cyber Security Act-2023. In this case, DGM Ali Hasan Mohammad Ariful Islam of Lakshmipur Palli Bidyut Association was arrested.
