8 Arrested Over Clash Between Two Groups In Brahmanbaria || Photo : Collected
The police have arrested eight people in connection with the clashes between two groups centered on dominance in Brahmanbaria. Eight unexploded cocktails, 36 indigenous weapons, and four helmets were recovered from the scene.
The police and army arrested them in a raid on Saturday (October 19) evening.
The arrested are - Md. Jasim Uddin (55), Zahirul Molla (35), Md. Jahangir Mia (45), Md. Roni (14), Md. Shamim (16), Abdul Rafi (17), Md. Manik Mia (19), Monir Hossain (42).
District Additional Superintendent of Police, Iqbal Hossain said that since noon, the two groups of miscreants had been fighting intermittently for dominance in the Baraharan area of Sadar Upazila. 30 to 40 houses were attacked, vandalized, and looted. Many were seriously injured in the clash.
After receiving the information, the Sadar police force rushed to the spot and controlled the situation with the help of the army. Legal action is under process in this incident.
