A total of 252 sub-inspectors (SIs) of Bangladesh Police Academy in Sardah of Rajshahi have been relieved on charges of breaching discipline.
In this regard, Home Adviser Lieutenant General Jahangir Alam Chowdhury (retd) said that they were exempted not for political reasons but for breaching discipline, as per local agency reports.
Mr Chowdhury said this while talking to reporters after holding a meeting of the Advisory Committee on Law and Order at the Home Ministry on Tuesday.
Is the sacking of 252 SIs in Saradha due to political affiliations? In response to such a question, the adviser said that it was due to a breach of discipline.
"But I don't know what discipline is. Sarada Academy can tell. They basically made the decision. There is no political involvement here."
