Mushfiqul Fazal Ansarey, the newly appointed senior secretary-ranked Ambassador of Bangladesh, has responded to a tweet by former U.S. President Donald Trump regarding Bangladesh.

In his post, Trump claimed that minorities in Bangladesh were suffering from brutal violence, mob attacks, and looting.

On Friday (Bangladesh time), Mushfiqul Fazal Ansarey replied on Twitter, thanking Trump for recognizing the importance of protecting minorities worldwide, regardless of their religion or location. However, he emphasized the necessity of fact-checking to understand the real situation. Ansarey referenced a fact-check report by Sweden-based news agency Netra News, published the same day, which shed light on the actual situation in Bangladesh, countering some narratives promoted by certain interest groups.

Ambassador Mushfiqul Fazal Ansarey included a link to Netra News’ investigative report in his post, stressing the importance of accurate information to provide appropriate assistance to those affected and to foster peace.

In his October 31 post on X (formerly Twitter) and Truth Social, Donald Trump, a candidate in the 2024 U.S. presidential election, wrote, "I strongly condemn the brutal violence against Hindus, Christians, and other minorities who are being attacked and looted by mobs in Bangladesh; the country is in total disarray."

He also criticized the Biden-Harris administration for failing to protect Hindus in the post.
