The government will request Interpol for red notice to arrest and bring back fugitives including former prime minister Sheikh Hasina allegedly involved in the genocide during the student protests of July and August.
Law Adviser Asif Nazrul said today after inspecting the status of renovation at the International Crimes Tribunal.
Asif Nazrul said, "The step will be taken soon. We will work with sincerity and prioritize bringing them back from wherever they are hiding."
"To undermine the country's dignity and mislead the people, false propaganda is being spread out within the prosecution team of the International Criminal Court with a baseless allegation. Any person can make such a complaint. We do not give importance to these," he added.
At least 753 people were killed and thousands more injured during the July-August mass uprising.
