Govt To Form Committee To Identify Fake Freedom Fighters

The interim government is forming a committee to identify fake freedom fighters and cancel the certificates, according to sources at the Liberation War Affairs ministry.

The committee will identify those who have enjoyed state benefits as freedom fighters without taking part in the Liberation War, the source said on Sunday (November 10th) at noon.

According to sources, the committee may have seven members. In addition to the applications filed against fake freedom fighters, the committee will re-scrutinise the controversial freedom fighters, which may lead to the cancellation of fake certificates.

The construction of houses for freedom fighters has also been suspended until the identification of fake freedom fighters is completed, the source said.
