World Champion Hafez Anas, Qari Gifari Return Home

Bangladeshi Hafez Anas Mahfuz and Qari Abu Zar Al Gifari, who brought glory to the country in the 13th International Hifzul Quran Competition in Kuwait, have returned home to hero’s welcome.

Their flight landed at the Dhaka airport on Thursday morning (November 21). They were accompanied by their teacher Abdullah Al Mamun.

Bangladeshi contestants took part in three groups in the competition against competitors from 74 countries. Anas won first place in the competition (8-12 years age group), while Gifari stood third in his age group.

Anas won third place in the National Hifzul Quran Competition (PHP Quran) last year.

“This is not just their achievement. They have brought glory to Bangladesh. The whole country is proud of them,” said an elated Murtaza Hasan Foyezi Masum, the founding director of Markazul Faizul Quran.
