Dengue Claims 3 Lives, 705 Hospitalised

Dengue has claimed three more lives in the last 24-hour, when hospitals around the country admitted 705 new patients.

“In the last 24 hours, 403 dengue patients were hospitalised in Dhaka city,” the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) said in a handout on Monday (December 2).

This year, a total of 93,056 patients were hospitalised, while 497 deaths from dengue disease were reported during the period, the statement added.

Last year, the country recorded a massive number of fatalities, with 1,705 dengue-related deaths and a total of 3,21,179 cases.
