The Police Reform Commission has made significant progress in implementing the decision to change the police logo. A new police logo has also been finalized.

Responsible sources from the Police Headquarters and the Ministry of Home Affairs recently confirmed this development.

According to sources, the police logo was first changed on February 10, 2004, through a notification. Later, in 2009, the logo was altered again, which is the one currently in use.

On August 8, a meeting chaired by former Advisor to the Ministry of Home Affairs, Brigadier General (Retd.) M. Sakhawat Hossain, decided to change the police logo. This decision was taken in response to the 11-point demands of the police reform movement.

The current logo features a boat with its sail, flanked by wheat and rice sheaves. A water lily is placed on the sail, and the word "Police" is written in Bengali below the boat.

The new logo will feature a water lily on either side, surrounded by wheat and rice sheaves. Three jute leaves will be placed at the top, and the word "Police" in Bengali will appear below the sheaves of wheat and rice.

Additionally, the Police Headquarters issued a notice stating that no extra funds will be required in the budget for the appropriate modification of the Bangladesh Police logo. A sample of the proposed logo, a draft notification, and other images have been sent.

Earlier, on August 11, during a meeting with police personnel, former Home Affairs Advisor Brigadier General (Retd.) M. Sakhawat Hossain announced that the 11-point demands would be addressed, including changes to the police uniform and logo.
