The Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) of Bangladesh, A. M. M. Nasiruddin, has stated that the upcoming national election will be organized with the participation of all registered political parties in the country. He made this statement during an event in Sylhet on Saturday, January 11, 2025.

The CEC mentioned that after receiving the report from the Reform Commission, the Election Commission (EC) will make new plans regarding the registration of political parties. He also highlighted that those involved in corruption related to voter ID corrections in the past will be brought under the law.

He confirmed that the next national election will not be conducted using Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs), and the Election Commission is working to hold the election according to the timeline set by the Chief Adviser. The election process will be conducted within a clear set of guidelines, and expatriates will be able to participate in the upcoming election.

Regarding the inclusion of expatriate voters, the CEC stated that it will not be possible to include all expatriates in the voter list in the first year. However, the process has begun, and expatriates will be gradually added to the list.

He also assured that the Election Commission will ensure journalists' freedom to work during the national election, though adherence to guidelines for smooth operations is important.

On local elections, the CEC refrained from making comments but mentioned that while some have suggested holding all elections on the same day, it is not feasible to do so.
