Road Transport and Bridges Adviser Muhammad Fauzul Kabir Khan has said the government is prepared to sit with Bangladesh Railway's running staff.
"Some demands of them have already met, others are under discussion with the finance department," he said to reporters after visiting Kamalapur Station in the capital on Tuesday morning.
Earlier, the adviser, railway secretary, Dhaka division manager went to the station to monitor the situation.
Adviser Fauzul Kabir said, "There may be demands, but the movement by holding passengers hostage is regrettable. Commuters are suffering a lot."
"We are confident a resolution will be reached soon," he added.
